This panel discussion [titled 'Homemakers in Popular Literature: the Rebellious, Rude, Strong and Significant'] was part of the Homemaker story project, initiated by Tell Me Your Story. I was Project Lead and moderator.
Swati Daftuar has over ten years of experience in publishing, writing and editing. She is the Senior Commissioning Editor for HarperCollins India. She has also worked with Hindustan Times, The Hindu and Buzzfeed. She has interviewed authors, reviewed books and examined trends within different genres, in what is only a glimpse of her many accomplishments.
Vaishali Mathur has done her Master diploma in Journalism from Symbiosis and Masters in English Literature from the University of Rajasthan. She has recently also secured a Certificate in Contemporary British Fiction through an online course run by the Oxford University. She started her career as a journalist with the Indian Express and The Times of India. At Penguin, she started the Penguin Metro Reads (commercial fiction) and Penguin Ananda (Mind Body Spirit) imprints. She then took up language publishing and Rights. Currently, she is Publisher, Indian languages and handles the Hindi list and continues to publish in the English list as well. Her noted authors are Sadhguru, Gaur Gopal Das, Ravinder Singh, Durjoy Datta, Narendra Kohli and Surendra Mohan Pathak.
Dipankar Mukherjee is the founder of Readomania, an Independent publishing house based in India. Under him, Readomania has produced several award-winning and bestselling titles. He also runs the Young Author Program, an initiative that nurtures young talent and helps them become published authors. A management graduate from IIT Madras, Dipankar has worked for the consulting industry for almost eight years, for organizations like IBM and Ernst Young.
